Description

What is it

Pirandai (Cissus quadrangularis) is unlike any other plant in the garden: a climbing vine made of thick, four-sided, jointed green stems, almost like a string of green beads. In Sanskrit it is called Vajravalli, “the adamantine creeper”.

Tamil kitchens have long turned it into pirandai thuvaiyal, cooked with tamarind, and the Siddha tradition values it for mobility and flexibility. Our powder is made from the stems, cleaned, dried and finely milled.

What Makes This Different

  • No itch, no fuss. Fresh pirandai can make your hands itch when you clean it. We do that work for you.
  • Stem only. Made from the jointed stems, the part used in Tamil kitchens.
  • Single ingredient. 100% Pirandai stem, with no fillers, flavouring or blending agents.

What It Does

  • A Siddha herb for movement. Traditionally valued for mobility and flexibility.
  • Famous as thuvaiyal. Pirandai thuvaiyal, ground with tamarind and urad dal, is a Tamil kitchen classic.
  • Tangy and earthy. Best cooked with tamarind, the traditional way.
  • Practically unstoppable. A single cut piece of stem will root and grow into a new vine, which is why it survives dry summers that defeat most plants.

An Adamantine Vine for the Everyday Kitchen

Vajravalli, the diamond-strong creeper, earns its name by growing back from almost nothing. FounditGood Pirandai Powder brings this remarkable vine to your kitchen, ready for thuvaiyal without the itchy cleaning.

The FounditGood Promise

For more than a decade, from our home in Pollachi at the foot of the Western Ghats, we have prepared Siddha and Ayurvedic herbs for families across India and customers in many countries around the world. Every pouch carries the same quiet promise: the right herb, prepared the right way.

  • Traditional knowledge, carried forward. We prepare each herb the way South Indian tradition intends: the right plant part, cleaned, dried and processed with care.
  • Sourcing we can stand behind. A deeply integrated supply chain, built over years with growers and gatherers we know, keeps every herb traceable and every batch consistent.
  • Stone-ground, in small batches. Our herbs are ground slowly on stone and in small quantities, so each batch is carefully watched from start to finish.
  • Clean label, clean process. Nothing added, nothing hidden: no fillers, colours, flavours or preservatives, made in an FSSAI Central Licensed, GMP-compliant, ISO 22000-certified facility.
  • Independently checked. Our products are periodically tested by independent third-party laboratories.
  • An ethical commitment. Honest labels, careful work and a refusal to cut corners on quality, because we would rather make less than make it worse.
