Adathodai (Adhatoda vasica), known as Vasaka in Sanskrit and adusa in Hindi, is a hardy shrub with large, lance-shaped leaves and white flowers marked with purple lines.

It is one of the most familiar herbs of Siddha and Ayurveda for respiratory and seasonal wellness, traditionally brewed into a warm kashayam with honey or pepper. Our powder is made from the leaves alone.

How to Use It

Traditional kashayam: Simmer ½ teaspoon with a pinch of black pepper in 1½ cups of water until reduced to about 1 cup. Strain and add honey once warm, not hot.

With honey: Or mix ¼ teaspoon with a teaspoon of honey.

Storage: Keep in an airtight container, away from heat, light and moisture. Use a dry spoon.
