Description
What is it
Amukkara (Withania somnifera) is known across the world by its Sanskrit name, Ashwagandha, and in English as Indian winter cherry. It is a small, shrubby plant whose pale, earthy roots are the treasured part.
Siddha and Ayurveda have valued amukkara root for centuries as a rasayana, a restorative herb for vitality and balance. Traditionally, it is stirred into warm milk with a little jaggery at the end of the day. Our powder is made from the root alone.
What Makes This Different
- Root only. Made from amukkara root, not leaves or stems, which are sometimes mixed into cheaper powders.
- Earthy and true to the root. Carefully dried and ground to keep the root’s own character.
- Single ingredient. 100% Amukkara root, with no fillers, flavouring or blending agents.
What It Does
- A classical restorative herb. Valued in Siddha and Ayurveda for vitality and restorative balance.
- An evening ritual. Traditionally taken in warm milk with jaggery or honey before bed.
- Earthy and distinctive. A deep, earthy taste that warm milk mellows beautifully.
- Named for its scent. Ashwagandha means “smell of a horse”, after the fresh root’s earthy aroma, and its red berries sit inside papery husks, like tiny lanterns.
A Root That Has Travelled the World
From Siddha kitchens to wellness shelves on every continent, few Indian herbs are as widely known. FounditGood Amukkara Powder brings this classical root back to its traditional form: a warm, earthy cup at the end of the day.
