Description

What is it

Roselle (Hibiscus sabdariffa) is a hibiscus grown for its fleshy, deep-red calyces, the cup of sepals that wraps the seed pod after the flower fades. In Andhra and Tamil Nadu its sour leaves are cooked as gongura and pulicha keerai.

Dried, the calyces brew into the famous ruby-red hibiscus tea, sipped hot or iced from Cairo to Kingston. Our tea is made from dried roselle calyces alone.

What Makes This Different

  • Calyx only. Made from roselle calyx alone, nothing else.
  • Beautiful in the cup. A deep ruby colour with a bright, cranberry-like tang.
  • Naturally caffeine-free. Pure herb, with no tea leaves, flavourings or sweeteners.

What It Does

  • A traditional drink around the world. Known as karkadé in Egypt, bissap in West Africa and sorrel in the Caribbean.
  • Lovely hot or iced. Tangy and refreshing, it makes a wonderful cold brew.

One Plant, Many Names

Gongura to Andhra cooks, karkadé in Egypt, sorrel at Caribbean Christmas: roselle is loved everywhere. FounditGood Hibiscus Tea brings its ruby calyces to your cup.
