Description

What is it

Kalarchikai (Caesalpinia bonduc) is a thorny climbing shrub whose prickly pods hold hard, smooth, grey seeds, round as marbles. Tamil children once played games with them.

Siddha tradition values the seed kernel for women’s and digestive wellness. Our tea is made from the dried kernel.

What Makes This Different

  • Seed kernel only. Made from kalarchikai seed kernel alone, nothing else.
  • Strongly bitter. Kalarchikai is famously bitter; honey helps.
  • Naturally caffeine-free. Pure herb, with no tea leaves, flavourings or sweeteners.

What It Does

  • A traditional Siddha seed. Valued for women’s and digestive wellness.
  • A childhood marble. Its smooth grey seeds were once used for village games.

Marbles From a Thorny Vine

The seeds are smooth and grey, the pods are covered in thorns. FounditGood Kalarchikai Tea does the hard work of getting from one to the other.
