What is it

Amla (Phyllanthus emblica), nellikkai in Tamil and Amalaki in Sanskrit, is a small, pale-green fruit that is sour, astringent and then, a moment later, surprisingly sweet. Drink water after biting one and you’ll notice the change.

It is the first fruit of triphala and one of the most valued fruits of Ayurveda and Siddha. Our tea is made from the dried fruit.

How to Use It

To brew: Steep one dip bag in a cup (about 150 ml) of freshly boiled water for 5 to 7 minutes. Add a little honey or palm jaggery if you like. Enjoy one cup a day.

Storage: Keep in an airtight container, away from heat, light and moisture.
