Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera), amukkara in Tamil, is a small shrub with orange-red berries in papery husks. Its name means ‘smell of a horse’, after the earthy scent of the fresh root.

The root has been valued in Ayurveda and Siddha for centuries as a restorative herb. Our tea is made from the dried root alone, packed in dip bags.

How to Use It

To brew: Steep one dip bag in a cup (about 150 ml) of freshly boiled water for 7 to 10 minutes. Add a little honey or palm jaggery if you like. Enjoy one cup a day.

Storage: Keep in an airtight container, away from heat, light and moisture.
